Richa Chadha In Legal Spotlight Over Viral Allegation

Richa Chadha has come under legal scrutiny after the Delhi High Court criticised her for sharing unverified allegations against a man accused of misconduct on a Delhi–Mumbai flight.

The court said her repost, along with the comment “Make him famous,” led to public shaming and online harassment.

The case is about a March 11th incident where a journalist accused a co-passenger of inappropriate behaviour and shared his photo and details. That man denied the claims and later filed a defamation case.

During the hearing the court said Richa’s post went beyond free speech and stressed that celebs must verify facts before sharing serious accusations. It also noted that she had deleted the post.

The court criticised media outlets for reporting without verification and ordered removal of such content until the next hearing.
